VT Art Trails Creative Dialogues

My students and I made handmade paper this week. We experimented with cotton linter, brown kraft paper pulp, newspaper pulp, napkin and tissue paper pulp, and laser printer paper pulp. The kids enjoyed placing the pulp into clay cookie molds. When dry, they painted and decorated them. We found the newspaper pulp to be very stinky, but the others were not smelly at all. It's been a learning process to figure out how much pulp is needed to make a decent sheet of paper. I finished up the pulp after the students left and ended up making some really cool paper. Can't wait to use it in a painting or a collage! Stop by the studio in May to check it out.
